Nicole Rogers has been with the District government since 2011, serving the DC Department of Buildings (DOB) and their predecessor agency. She received her master’s in public policy from George Mason University and is a fourth-generation Washingtonian. By working in various agency areas such as construction and housing inspections, leading permit operations, and now as the Chief Building Official (CBO). The CBO leads the Office of Construction and Building Standards, which includes construction-based inspections, third party oversight, permitting services (plan review) and illegal construction. Nicole brings a unique approach to the role with an emphasis on leadership, communication and customer service. Her vision is built on three primary principles, education, transparency and consistency.
